Remote control Windows, Mac and Linux Desktops with Linux over the Internet: Teamviewer

To my big surprise, today I stumbled upon a working Linux version of a remote control commercial program that is commonly used in the Windows world: Teamviewer. Essentially, Teamviewer allows taking over desktops any place, anywhere, as long as you have a working Internet connection. It allows remote control to Windows, Mac and Linux desktops. It even  supports Windows dual screens. Sounds interesting?  Just check out the Teamviewer site,  and click on Download. There is a full install program for most Linux flavors, amongst which Ubuntu, of course. For Ubuntu, just download the appropriate *.deb package, and double-click to install it. Looking at the Help / About of the package, you will notice that the program uses WINE, but you don’t need to install it, the necessary WINE binaries for Teamviewer are built into the installation. Check it out!
